AHEPA District 6 Family organizes virtual conference for Fall 2021

AHEPA Empire District 6 of New York held its annual Fall Conference virtually on October 9. Original plans to hold an in-person conference were canceled due to COVID concerns.

The Conference was well-attended by members of the Supreme and District 6 Lodges and representatives of many chapters in the District. Among those in attendance was AHEPA Supreme President Jimmy Kokotas who spoke about many of AHEPA’s programs and urged the District and all chapters to strive for excellence, to meet their financial obligations, and to recruit more new members. Other dignitaries included AHEPA Supreme Governor of Region 3 Vassos Chrysanthou, Daughters of Penelope (DOP) Grand Secretary Marianthi Treppiedi, AHEPA District 6 Governor Dean Moskos, DOP Governor Maria “Cookie” Patelos, and Maids of Athena Grand Treasurer Rigo Nasopoulos. Special appearances were also made by AHEPA Past Supreme President George Horiates, and by AHEPA Past Supreme Governor of Region 3 Tom Dushas.

The agenda laid out the plans for the District for the year and included membership education pertaining to managing AHEPA’s Membership Portal, outlining the District 6 website, and showing a video of AHEPA’s Initiation Ritual Ceremony. These were presented by AHEPA District 6 Lt. Governor Chris Pappis.

The Conference continued with District Lodge officer reports from the AHEPA and DOP Lodges, and with reports from representatives of all AHEPA family chapters which briefly laid out their recent and future planned activities for the year. The Conference ended with various remarks for the good of the order.
