Greek Prime Minister: The government is firmly committed to the 'green' agenda

After the announcement that Greece will be phasing out the use of lignite coal at the UN Climate Summit in New York and the cabinet’s decision to set up a National Council on Energy and Climate, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Wednesday returned to the “green” agenda in a speech at the founding ceremony of the new Mytilineos power station, according to ANA.

In line with Greece’s policy as the country prepares for the transition to the new “green” reality by 2030, the new Mytilineos plant will have a minimal environmental footprint, Mitsotakis pointed out.
