Anti-climate change protest organized in Athens’ central Syntagma Square

Hundreds of Greek students protested against climate change in the country’s capital on Friday morning in what is becoming a regular occurrence, taking place every Friday in many cities around the globe under the title of ”Fridays for Future,” according to greekreporter.com.

The predominantly-young protesters gathered at Syntagma Square and joined their voices with all the other activists who were demonstrating at the very same time all around the globe.

Apart from students, representatives from scores of environmental organizations as well as politicians, mainly from left-wing parties, were present at Friday’s Syntagma protest.

The demonstrators demanded the Greek government adopt even more decisive strategies to tackle Greece’s contribution to the world’s climate change.

The protest occurs just a few days before the United Nations-sponsored Climate Change Conference, which is set to open on December 2 in Madrid, Spain.
