Gastronomy tourism in Greece has been growing rapidly over the last two years, Maria Athanassopoulou, owner of hotels and destination promotion company “Respond on Demand”, said in an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency’s radio station Praktoreio 104.9 FM.
“Greece always promoted gastronomy tourism even it its was not made on purpose. Greece has always been a famous destination for its good cuisine, but now it needs to be dealt with more professionalism. This is what the Greek tourism professionals need to understand; that gastronomy is a special part of tourism that needs to be governed by specific rules,” she underlined.
