Thessaloniki is ‘moving’ to Athens and inviting the denizens of the Greek capital to dinner in Kotzia Square, in front of the Athens City Hall, this Saturday and Sunday on October 7-8.
The ‘1st Thessaloniki Street Food Festival – Athens edition’ has issued an open invitation to locals and tourists alike to visit a “gastronomy village” organized by Thessaloniki restaurants offering various cuisines. The events will include food, music, workshops and interactive games from 11:00 to 23:00 at night, the Festival’s organiser Demis Samaras said to the Athens Macedonian News Agency radio station “Praktoreio 104.9 FM”.
The event exclusively features Thessaloniki-based firms only and aims to promote the northern Greek city as foodie/gastronomic destination.
The same event organized in Thessaloniki in April attracted over 70,000 visitors, while the Thessaloniki Beer Festival held a month ago was an even greater success, Samaras said.
