Chalkidiki’s olives lauded in Russian travel magazine

Russia’s travel magazine “Vokrug Sveta”, with 3.5 million readers per month, is running a seven-page feature story on the Chalkidiki peninsula in northern Greece and its production of olives and olive oil, ANA reports.

“Olive oil flows in the veins of the Greeks,” noted journalist Kiril Sidorov, who visited Greece last September as part of a press delegation to visit olive groves and watch the olive harvest.

“From ancient times, the olive was a symbol of peace and victory in Greece,” the Russian journalist commented.
