Fava bean festival on the Greek island of Schinoussa

The 7th Fava bean festival on the Greek island of Schinoussa will begin on Friday, to celebrate the island’s signature agricultural crop, which is also its main farming product, ANA reports.

For two days, on Friday and Saturday, the island’s residents, tourists and visitors will be able to join in the annual festival, with events commencing at 19:30 in the central square of the island’s main village.

New chefs will present original fava recipes and there will be a screening of the film “The Pirates of Schinoussa” with the island’s children playing the main roles, to a script written and directed by Theodossia Papadopoulou. A concert with traditional music will end the first day of the festival.
