Greek food is loved around the globe, greekreporter.com notes and adds that it is no surprise that in Toronto, Canada, where over 252,960 people claim Greek ancestry, a new television show has been launched highlighting Greek cuisine!
The new series, “Star Foodies! Greece Edition” is a celebrity cooking show which airs on Omni TV, featuring Greek celebrities and chefs from Canada.
The new series is the brainchild of host Christina Laia Vlahos along with Producer/Director Maria Dalekos.
The cooking series showcases on-location interviews with local celebrities in the country of Greece, showing off its beautiful landscapes and its vibrant culture, as well as its cuisine.
Celebrities “dish” about their favorite Greek food during interviews with host Christina. Once the interview is completed, Christina returns to Toronto, Canada, where she puts professional chefs to the test of re-creating the sumptuous Greek dishes.
The show’s first episode featured Greek signer and actor Sakis Rouvas being interviewed in the country, and Toronto chef Christine Cushing re-creating his favorite Greek food.
So far the production has completed nine shows and “Star Foodies” been renewed for another season by the Omni TV network. Hopefully the audience can look forward to many more Greek celebrities “dishing” about their favorite Greek food, and seeing delicious re-creations of their recipes in Toronto.
