Samos and its gastronomy are introduced to the Romanian public

The beautiful island of the NE Aegean, Samos, was visited from June 13 to 17, 2025, by the contributors of a popular culinary show on the Romanian state television TVR. The aim is to present the natural beauty, local products, and traditional recipes of the island of Pythagoras to the Romanian public.

The Foreign Service of the Hellenic National Tourist Organization Romania, in collaboration with the North Aegean Region and in particular the Regional Unit of Samos, organized a press trip to the homonymous island with the guests Elena Dinu (presenter and producer) and Florin Dinu (cameraman), from the Romanian state television channel (TVR).

The guests had the opportunity to get to know the city of Samos, Pythagoreio, to visit Karlovasi, the Wine Museum, Kokkari with the neighboring beaches (Lemonakia and Tsamadou). They also visited the Holy Monastery of Panagia Spiliani and the village of Manolates, where several traditional craftsmen live. They were finally given the opportunity to film the preparation of local dishes, but also to discover and walk on the paths (hiking routes) of the island.

The trip is part of the overall strategy of the Greek National Tourism Organization, which aims to strengthen the reputation and promotion of Greece abroad as a multi-thematic destination, with an emphasis on experiential tourism, the geographically and temporally balanced promotion of the country’s tourism products, as well as the promotion of thematic forms of tourism (e.g. rural, cultural, gastronomic tourism, wine tourism).

With the material collected by our invited journalists, a television show (Cap Compas) will be produced, which will be broadcast in September 2025 on the channels TVR 1, TVR 2, TVR International, and TVR Moldova.
