A celebration dedicated to the most valuable good of the Elias land is being prepared by the Cultural Association of Koliriou “Koliria Earth”. The 1st Festival of Kolireikis Olive is scheduled to take place on July 19, in the courtyard of the Ilias Elementary School. The festival is also held with the support of the Region of Western Greece.
The 1st Festival of Kolirei Olive combines culture, tradition, nutrition, and entertainment, with the aim of highlighting the Kolireian olive and its products. Among other things, the program includes video viewing, informative speeches by an agronomist and nutritionist on the beneficial properties of olive oil, exhibition of local agricultural products, olive oil-based treats, and traditional dances by participating cultural associations. The evening will be completed with a popular feast in a scene of genuine Greek hospitality.
What is the coller olive
The Kolire Olive, known for its intense aroma and rich, fruity oil, is an essential element of the agricultural identity of the area. It is cultivated with passion from generation to generation, with small producers investing in quality and tradition. The Festival seeks to highlight the dynamics of local production, but also to boost agrotourism and sustainable development of the area.
Koliri, built in a privileged position overlooking the plain of Ilia and just a few kilometers from Pyrgos, is a place with a rich natural environment, a quiet atmosphere, and a powerful rural character. There, the olive tree is not just a product, but a way of life.
The “Koliraon Land” club aims at the cultural regeneration of the place through actions that combine knowledge with entertainment. With the Festival, he hopes to establish a new institution that will honor the olive tree, the tree-symbol of life, the earth, and peace. In addition, the event aspires to be an attraction for visitors from the wider area, offering an experience of authentic local culture, but also an opportunity to network between producers, professionals and consumers who share a love for land and its fruits.
