With the promise that the appointment will be renewed for 2026, the curtain fell for this year on the 9th Viticulture Festival in Anemotia in Lesvos, where on August 16, 17 and 18, 2025, Anemotia was transformed into a meeting point for people, ideas and cultures. The village experienced three days full of tradition, art, music and collectivity, through the festival organized by the Anemotia Winegrowers Association “o Kampos”.
A three-day journey from memory to creation
On the first day, tradition emerged as the foundation of community regeneration. Through memories, narratives and artistic actions, the audience was invited to discover the living power of cultural heritage.
On the second day, experiential workshops on stone, weaving and viticulture brought folk arts to life, reminding us that knowledge and craftsmanship are keys to sustainability and collectivity.
On the third day, the celebration culminated with theater, music and artistic expressions, where thread, stone and grapes were symbolically united in a shared experience of creation and participation.
The 9th Festival proved for yet another year that it is much more than a cultural event. It is an invitation to reconnect with place, history and fellow human beings. A living example of inclusion and community collaboration, which brought together winegrowers, scientists, artists, craftsmen, volunteers and visitors from all over Lesvos and from other regions, as it is characteristically emphasized.
May the spark not go out
The organizers closed with the wish that the spark lit by Anemotia will continue to burn, so that the Festival grows without losing its authentic soul. A message to the new generation that there is no dilemma between a career and contribution to the place, between the village and the city. You can have both, when the place becomes art and creation, when participation generates experiences that travel beyond the boundaries of an island.
Next stop: the 10th Festival
After the dynamic closing, the gaze is already turning towards 2026. The 10th Anemotia Viticulture Festival is expected to be a milestone, bringing even more actions, collaborations and cultural bridges, with Lesvos remaining at the epicenter of creation and tradition.
