Pieria Mountains: A Feast of Flavors at the 5th Mountain and Forest Gastronomic Festival

On September 27 and 28, Elatochori, Pieria, plans to host the “Mountain and Forest Gastronomic Festival” for the fifth year, a celebration that marries nature with flavor, highlighting the secrets of local cuisine. Among the fir trees and verdant hills, visitors will have the opportunity to experience a two-day event full of experiences that combine the authenticity of Pieria with culinary creativity.

The festival includes local flavors, cooking demonstrations, an outdoor market with products from local producers, as well as music and dance events that transform the event into a complete cultural experience. From traditional dances to live music, the atmosphere promises to be festive, with the audience actively participating in a true celebration of local tradition.

The aim of the event is to promote the Pieria Mountains as a tourist destination beyond the narrow boundaries of winter tourism and skiing. Through gastronomy, the organizers attempt to enhance the extroversion of the region, boost the local economy and extend the tourist season, taking advantage of the advantages offered by nature, tradition and local production.

At the same time, the festival is a platform for producers, professionals and creators to showcase not only traditional recipes and indigenous products, but also innovative approaches to gastronomy. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste special flavors, tour local wineries and discover the diversity of Pieria’s gastronomic identity.

Elatochori, built amphitheatrically on the slopes of Pieria, is a place that combines the mountain with authentic hospitality. A favorite winter destination thanks to its ski center, it is gaining more and more ground in the other months as well, as it offers unique hiking trails, fresh air and captivating landscapes. The festival comes to confirm that Pieria is not only for winter, but also for those seeking experiences that combine nature, taste and culture.
