Olympic Holidays: Greece will shine in 2016 on UK market

Olympic Holidays specialist tour operator Commercial Director Fotis Labrianidis stated in a Travel Weekly trends report he is “optimistic that Greece will shine in 2016 on the UK market.”

According to him, “Greek islands in general had a very good season in 2015. Despite financial difficulties, they have shown great resilience and in some cases even managed to increase arrivals and revenues. The Greek economy’s strong dependency on tourism in combination with North Africa and Middle East problems create favorable conditions for the country to shine in 2016.”

The article describes Greece as the “eternal beloved” (for British tourists ) and considers it a strong tourism market since financial problems seem to have limited impact in relation to the problems faced by other destinations this season. It also mentions that Thomas Cook added Thassos in its program, while Olympic Holidays records good reservations for Skiathos, Kefalonia and other smaller islands.
