Greek Tourism Ministry announced that prominent Israeli tour operators are scheduling to hold their annual conference in Greece this autumn.
This was the outcome of a very productive meeting that Secretary General of Greek National Tourism Organisation (EOT), Dimitris Tryfonopoulos, had with Israel’s Tourism Minister Yariv Levin, General Secretary of Tourism Halevy Amir and leading tour operators of the country, during this year’s International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM) exhibition, which was organized on February 9-10 at Tel Aviv’s TLV Convention Center.
Extensive discussions
Within the context of the exhibition, Mr. Tryfonopoulos also had extensive discussions on Israeli tour operators plans to market new travel packages to Greece inspired by the country’s gastronomy, environment, open door activities, city break, new destinations and services.
During the discussions, Israeli tourism officials declared that they consider Greece as the preferred destination of travellers this year over other destinations.
This declaration was mirrored in the Greek tourism ministry’s announcement to “further strengthen the flight program of Greek and Israeli air carriers to Athens and other Greek airports and the launch of additional charter flights to Greece.”
