An important agreement of cooperation between Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO) and the Austrian travel agent, SeniorenReisen, has recently been announced, ttgmena.com reports.
Following meetings held last summer in Cyprus between the two parties, it was decided that SeniorenReisen, a subsidiary company of the Austrian Pensioners Association (PVO) and the largest organisation of seniors in Austria with 400,000 members, will organise trips for its members to Cyprus over the course of 2017 and 2018.
The trips will take place around the end of March to the beginning of May, a favourable season for the island, in the Ayia Napa/Protaras region. The number of tourists is estimated to be around 7,000, or 1,300-1,500 a week.
The total number of visits over the course of the two years will amount to an estimated 14,000.
CTO heralds the deal as a success for increasing arrival non-summer months.
