Russia’s federal tourism agency Rostourism restored 13 out of 19 licenses of Turkish-owned tour operators that were revoked as part of Moscow’s sanctions against Turkey last December.
The agency Rostourism inspected documents submitted by the tour operators and concluded that 13 companies and their subsidiaries have no apparent involvement in ownership byTurkish nationals or Turkish funds.
The 13 restored licences belong to:
- “Coral Travel”
- “Sanmar Tour”
- “Aneks Regions”
- “Anex Tour Moscow”
- “Pegas Tours”
- “Pegasus Kazan”
- “Pegas Ufa”
- “Pegas Touristik”
- “Pegas Yekaterinburg”
- “Pegasus Krasnodar”
- “Pegasus Samara”
- “Pegasus Perm”
- “Pegasus Retail”
This development does not affect the sanctions regime that Russia has imposed on Turkey.
Russia has introduced a raft of economic sanctions against Turkey since that latter’s downing of a Russian warplane near the Turkish-Syrian border in November 2015.
Among the restrictions is the suspension of charter flights from Russia to Turkey.
