Islamist attacks in France have dented the tourism industry with fewer tourists and fewer bookings. Paris is particular is seeing a significant drop-off in visitor numbers, Deutsche Welle reports and adds:
The number of overnight stays in French hotels by foreign tourists dropped 10 percent in July. Tourism officials say visitors from outside Europe were deterred by recent Islamist militant attacks. France’s already-battered tourism industry took a further hit in late July after 84 people were killed in Nice on Bastille Day during what should have been the height of the season.
