Messages from German tourist market ‘very encouraging’ for Central Macedonia

The messages emerging from the German tourist market are very good for Greek tourism, with the pre-bookings up 30 percent in comparison with 2016, Central Macedonia deputy governor for Tourism and Culture Alexandros Thanos said on Monday, while reviewing Greece’s participation in the International Tourism Exhibition (ITB) in Berlin, which ended on Sunday.

Speaking to Athens Macedonian News Agency radio “Praktoreio”, Thanos said that Germany is a mature market and “the Germans know us,” adding that “we are expecting the results in practice and we hope for normality in terms of geopolitical developments”.

Our target is still to extend the tourist season and develop alternative or thematic tourism, Thanos clarified.
