Cyprus tourism revenue in April 2017 jumped 37.5% compared to the same month last year, the Cyprus Statistical Service has announced, travelwirenews.com reports.
According to the data of the Passenger Survey, revenue in April 2017 reached €189.6 million compared to €137.9 million in April 2016.
For the period January-April 2017, tourism revenue is calculated at €357.7 million compared to €285.5 million in the same period of 2016, recording an increase of 25.3%.
Per capita spending for April 2017 rose to €662.06 compared to €611.37 in April 2017, showing an increase of 8.3%
The per capita/per day spending for tourists in April 2017 compared to April 2016 recorded a 4.6% increase.
In April 2017 there was a 3.3% rise in per capita spending from United Kingdom tourists (from €702.59 in April 2016, to €725.67 in April 2017). There was also a 19.6% increase in per capita spending from Russia tourists (from €653.62 to €782.05 this year) and a 26.5% increase in per capita spending from German tourists (from €586.57 to €742.17).
Per capita/per day spending of United Kingdom tourists recorded a 5.4% rise (from €70.97 in April 2016 to €74.81 in April 2017), while for Russian tourists it increased by 6.5% ( from €80.69 to €85.94) and for German tourists by 9% (from €72.42 to €78.95).
