Data released by the Cyprus Statistical Service on Monday, indicate that tourist arrivals in August were up by 14.2%, while tourist arrivals in first 8 months of the year were up by 14.7%.
Both outcomes are historic records as Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO) notes in a press release, noting that it will now focus on further improving the winter season and on seasonality issues.
According to the Statistical Service on the basis of the results of the Passengers Survey, arrivals of tourists rose to 523,651 in August 2017 compared to 458,645 in August 2016, recording an increase of 14.2%.
“August 2017 had the highest volume of tourist arrivals ever recorded in Cyprus during the specific month,” the Statistical Service noted in a press release.
