Revenue from tourism in Cyprus for the period of January – July 2017 broke a new record reaching €1.42 billion, marking an increase 15.2% compared with 1.23 billion in the respective period of 2017.
According to the Cyprus Statistical Service (Cystat) tourist revenue in July rose to €427.2 million up by 5.8% compared with July of 2016 when revenue amounted to €402 million.
July 2017 was the best month of all time both in terms of tourist arrivals (531,000) and in terms of revenue.
Nevertheless, per capita expenses for July 2017 declined €801 million compared with €834 million in July 2016. Per capita daily expenses for July 2017 declined by 5.9% year on year.
Average period of stay in July 2017 amounted to 9,9 days compared with 9,7 days during July 2016.
