North Events chief Leonidas Babanis: Greece could attract 1.5 million Polish tourists

North Events company boss Leonidas Babanis is very well known throughout the tourist market in Greece as he has spent 15 years dealing exclusively with the promotion of Greek tourism, culture and traditional products.

Babanis started in the Scandinavian markets, expanded to Poland by organizing exhibitions for Greece, arrived in the USA and continues his work by expanding his activities to other European markets in the coming years.

On the occasion of the forthcoming GRECKA PANORAMA exhibition in Poland (1-3) December, Tornos News had an extremely interesting conversation with him on the Polish market, which attained an impressive rate of growth during recent years to reach 1 million arrivals this year.

Mr Bambanis claims that this figure could have reach 1,500,000 Polish tourists in Greece if operators and professionals had been mobilized five years earlier in this market.

However, he stresses that the Polish market is still at its beginnings, as travel abroad is rising rapidly while the country’s income and economy are rising steadily.

Therefore, there is great potential for Greek destinations to increase their share in Poland.

The impressive fact that Mr Bampanis highlighted is that the amount of travel expenses of Poles in Greece fluctuates between between 600 and 780 euros per capita, elevating them in the third place after the Americans (1,089 €) and the Russians (802 €)!

Polish visitors this year spent 10% more money on their holidays in Greece, while in the other popular destinations such as Bulgaria is Spain the respective increase was only 3%.
