At least 8,350 visitors and over 100 Polish and Greek professionals involved in tourism and exports visited the Grecka Panorama, the third exhibition exclusively dedicated to Greece in Warsaw.
The exhibition, organised by North Events, took place at the exhibition centre of the national stadium of Poland PGE Narodowy on Saturday and Sunday along with two conferences on the congress market and Greek products on Friday at the historic hotel Belotto, which attracted a lot of interest and reaffirmed Greece’s leading position in the Polish market as the most popular holiday destination and emerging destination for business events and congresses.
Over 5 tons of Greek products were sold, with olive oil, olives, cheese and wine from all over Greece predominating.
According to data given by Polish tourism agencies, Greece was once again the top tourism destination in 2017 with a market share exceeding 31 pct, while posting an 8 pct increase in comparison with 2016.
Demand for Greece in 2018 is also at satisfactory levels. More than 30 Greek tourist destinations will be linked with direct flights to 10 Polish airports, while new destinations, as Limnos and Chios will be added. Finally, it is estimated that, according to the number of arrivals in 2017, Poland with probably become the new member of the ‘club’ with over one million arrivals in Greece.
