Greece’s Deputy Minister for Macedonia and Thrace Maria Kollia-Tsaroucha met in Thessaloniki on Friday with visiting Bulgarian Vice President Iliana Malinova Iotova and discussed several issues ahead of Bulgaria’s assumption of the rotating presidency of the European Union for the first half of 2018, ANA reports:
Those included the close collaboration of both countries especially in infrastructure, energy and tourism as well as the migration issue which is central in Bulgaria’s agenda during the country’s presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The Greek minister also raised the issue of the return to Greece of valuable artefacts from the monasteries of the Serres prefecture, which Iotova promised she would look into.
