The HolidayCheck Award Process:
There are strict rules in place for giving the Award: to even come into consideration for this sought-after
accolade, a hotel must have collected at least 50 reviews from its guests during a period of twelve
months (December 1st, 2016 until November 30th, 2017). In addition, the accommodations must have
been recommended by at least 90% of their former guests. Another tough hurdle that the hotels have to
face are the HolidayCheck “Suns”, which holidaymakers use when reviewing hotel. The scale ranges from a
minimum of 1 (poor) to a maximum of 6 (very good); potential Award hotels must have achieved at least 5
“suns”.
In addition, a hotel must not have used manipulation to go against the portal’s Code of Conduct. The rules
in the Code define under which conditions HolidayCheck considers active guest addressing for the purpose
of review collection acceptable. In extreme contraventions of the Code of Conduct, HolidayCheck reserves
the right to remove and recall current accolades.
