Revenue from tourism rose significantly by 11.9% in the first ten months of 2017, the Statistical Service of Cyprus reported on Friday.
According to Cystat, on the basis of the results of the Passenger Survey, revenue from tourism reached €277,1 mn in October 2017 compared to €266,0 mn in the corresponding month of the previous year, recording a growth of 4.2%.
“For the period of January – October 2017 revenue from tourism is estimated at €2.493,8 mn compared to €2.228,7 mn in the corresponding period of 2016, recording an increase of 11.9%” Cystat announced.
The expenditure per person in October 2017 reached €681,05 compared to €744,73 in the corresponding month of the previous year, recording a decrease of 8.6%. The expenditure per person/per day for October 2017 compared to October 2016 also recorded a drop of 9.5%.
