Turkish tourism records a strong recovery in the German market (after Russia) according to the early bookings for the summer of 2018. “As TUI data show, there is almost 70% annual growth in early booking by German travelers for the summer of 2018 BTW chairman Michael Frenzel said, speaking at an event organized by the Association of Turkish Investors in Tourism (TYD) on January 24th.
Mr Frenzel pointed out the increase in flights to Antalya. Turkey, he added, is popular in Germany for family holidays, offering fair pricing. He also warned Turkish hoteliers to avoid sharp increases in prices when demand recovered.
During the first 11 months of 2017, almost 3.5 million Germans visited Turkey, while that figure was almost 3.8 million in the same period last year. In the January-November 2015 period, 5.4 million Germans also visited Turkey.
