According to data from Russian statistical system EMISS, almost all foreign destinations recorded a double-digit growth with the exception of Greece (+ 9%) and Cyprus (+6.2%),
Greece ranked 11th among the top 20 destinations that Russians elected in 2017.
An impressive rebound was attained by the UAE, with an increase of 53.7% compared to 2016, followed by Vietnam (+ 30.1%), the Czech Republic (+ 27.4%) and Thailand and Italy (25% each).
Destinations such as Lithuania (-6.8%), Bulgaria (10.3%) and Tunisia (-17%) followed a negative course.
Beyond the top-20 destinations, the Dominican Republic showed an impressive recovery of 73%, Cuba showed an increase of 60%, Austria + 35%, France + 22%, South Korea + 16%, India + 29% and Malta + 31%.
Saudi Arabia also recorded an impressive growth of 129% while Russian treveler flows to Qatar rose by 33%.
