Thessaloniki is a prime destination for Israeli tourists as most of them maintain an emotional bond with the city.
According to the Thessaloniki Hotel Association, tourist arrivals from Israel to the city are rising, with the growth rate from 2016 to 2017 reaching 87.31%.
Specifically in 2016, Thessaloniki hosted 44,966 Israeli tourists while during 2017 visitors from Israel reached 84,224.
At IMTM 2018, the International Tourism Fair of Israel, which was recently held at the TLV Convention Center in Tel Aviv, Thessaloniki took part as a National Greek Tourism Organization co-exhibitor along with the Region of Central Macedonia.
