A strong increase of 41% in early booking for Greece is recorded for the summer of 2018 according to data gathered by leading platform HolidayCheck between November 2017 and January 2018 in German-speaking travel markets.
Data confirm the general trend for a dynamic return of European tourists to Turkey and Egypt in 2018.
More specifically, bookings for Turkey rose by 92% placing the country in third place among the most sought-after destinations thanks to the lower cost of its vacation packages.
Demand for Tunisia recorded an 81% increase and for Egypt an impressive 71% so that both countries are expected to have an excellent tourist season, provided that no security issues arise.
The Mediterranean continues to show vigorous growth in 2018, with Spain still its most popular destination.
Moss German-speaking markets record a 5% growth, which is considered an outstanding performance, given the country’s large booking volumes.

The Balearic Islands, Mallorca and Ibiza, with an increase of 21% are described as major reasons for electing Spain.
Portugal (+ 15%), Bulgaria (+ 28%) and Italy (+ 45%) complete the list of destinations with a good start in early summer bookings for 2018.
Regarding destination pricing, Tunisia is the cheapest choice among the most popular destinations (65 euros per person per day), and the UAE remains the most expensive choice, steadily at 146 euros last year.
Turkey and Egypt stand at 69 euros, with prices in the former up by 10% compared to 2017 and cheaper cost in the latter by 3% compared to last year.
Spain is 7% more expensive at 98 euros, Portugal charges 10% more at 100 euros, Mallorca is up by 6% at 92 euros, Gran Canaria up by 7% to 109 euros and Fuerteventura up by 8% at 101 euros.
