Tourist arrivals in Cyprus recorded a historic high in September 2018 and in the first nine months of the year, according to data released on Wednesday by the Statistical Service show.
Cystat reported that arrivals of tourists rose to 520.138 in September 2018 compared with 483.716 in September 2017, recording an increase of 7,5%. “September 2018 had the highest volume of tourist arrivals ever recorded in Cyprus during the specific month”, Cystat noted.
“For the period of January – September 2018 arrivals of tourists totalled 3.239.760 compared to 3.001.603 in the corresponding period of 2017, recording an increase of 7,9% and outnumbering the total arrivals ever recorded in Cyprus during the first nine months of the year”, it continued.
The Statistical Service also reported that tourist arrivals from the United Kingdom were up by 5,3% in September 20.
