Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis and Swedish Ambassador to Greece Charlotte Sammelin focused on the issue of migration during a Friday meeting in Athens, but also discussed the prospects of enhancing Greek-Swedish cooperation, the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027 and both countries’ priorities during the term of the new European Commission, ANA reports.
A ministry press statement said Varvitsiotis expressed his intention to take advantage of the new Multiannual Financial Framework for Migration, and he also referred to the Greek positions on the allocation of funding resources for the EU’s Cohesion Policy and Common Agricultural Policy.
Sammelin was positive regarding the presence of 37 large Swedish companies in Greece and underlined that her country wishes to develop cooperation with Greece in the fields of Research and Development, as well as medical tourism.
