The Admiral Makarov frigate of the Russian Navy’s Black Sea fleet docked at Corfu island port on Friday, as part of the 17th Hellenic-Russian Week at Corfu and the islands of the Ionian Sea, ANA reports.
A reading of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s greeting was held by Russian Ambassador to Greece Andrey Maslov on Saturday, with a wreath-laying at the Ioannis Kapodistrias Monument, at the Saint Theodore Ushakov monument-patron saint of the Russian Navy, and at the monument of the Fallen Greeks and Russians.
A concert is scheduled to be held in Corfu city on Sunday from 19:00 to 21:00 with the participation of the Russian Black Sea Fleet’s orchestra and dance group.
According to the Russian Embassy in Greece, the islanders will be able to visit Admiral Makarov on the following dates and times:
- Monday September 30 between 15:00-17:00
- Tuesday October 1 between 10:00-12:00 noon.
