Cyprus Tourism revenue decreased during first seven months of 2019

Tourism revenue was down on an annual basis by 2.5% in the first seven months of this year and by 1.1% in July, numbers released by the Cyprus Statistical Service, on Monday, show.

In particular, on the basis of the results of the Passenger Survey,  published in the Statistical Service`s website, revenue from tourism reached €422 mn in July 2019 compared to €426.6 mn in the corresponding month of the previous year, recording a fall of 1.1%.

During the period of January – July 2019 revenue from tourism is calculated at €1,425.2 mn compared to €1,461.5 mn in the corresponding period of 2018, recording a decrease of 2.5%.

Expenditure per person for July 2019 reached €765.84 compared to €790.64 in the corresponding month of the previous year, recording a drop of 3.1%.
