The Greek island of Crete attracts the second-largest share of bookings among European island destinations for 2020, as recorded by the analysis of demand data for holiday packages in the German market on the travel platform Check24.
More than one the 3 Germans planning organized holidays in an island destination in Europe choose Majorca (33.9%) followed by Crete with a share of 14.7% and Rhodes with 7.3%.
The Greek island of Kos ranked sixth (5.9%) while Corfu and Paxi ranked eighth (2.9%).
Compared to last year, prices in all island destinations in Europe are on the rise, with the sharpest hikes recorded in Ibiza (+12.5%) and in Crete (+11%).
The cheapest packages can be located in Corfu and Paxi, as a holiday day costs an average of 86 euros. As low as Prices in Tenerife are equally low (90 euros) while the most expensive rates are recorded in Ibiza (113 euros).
