NICOSIA – The number of cases of people contracting the COVID-19 Coronavirus has been falling on Cyprus, with only five more recorded on April 20, bringing hope that a lockdown could be lifted and life gradually returns to normal, amid caution and restrictions.
The new cases were found among 1,669 tests, bringing the total number on the island to 772 and Health Ministry officials saying 236 people who had contact with two of those found with the virus being tested as well.
The island’s coronavirus center in Famagusta was treating 16 patients, four of whom were in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) said Kathimerini Cyprus, while three patients were on life support in the Limassol General hospital ICU, and the Nicosia General ICU is treating 10 patients by that date.
