Drop of 92.7% in Cyprus residents travelling abroad recorded during February

A total of 8,918 residents of Cyprus returned from a trip abroad in February 2021, compared to 121,354 in the corresponding month last year, recording a decrease of 92.7%, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, CNA reports.
 
According to the Statistical Service o Cyprus, the main countries from which Cypriot residents returned in February 2021, were Greece and Russia. Compared to February 2020, the returns of residents from Greece fell by 94.6% and returns from Russia by 87.8%.

The Statistical Service says that the statistics for February 2021 were obtained from processing data of the electronic platform “Cyprus Flight Pass”. Due to issues that arose from the self-declared information provided by the passengers, it was not possible to provide a more extensive analysis.
