Greek ministers sign two agreemenst before concluding visit to Saudi Arabia

Greek Ministers of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias and National Defense Nikos Panagiotopoulos wrapped up their visit to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday after signing two agreements, ANA reports.

“Greece and Saudi Arabia are upgrading their diplomatic and defense cooperation, aiming for regional stability,” Dendias said in a tweet after wrapping up contacts with the Saudi crown prince and ministers, including Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Commenting on the visit, Defense Minister Panagiotopoulos referred to the importance of cooperation in view of security threats in the region. He added that “a battery of the Patriot missile system of the Greek Air Force will be deployed shortly and operate from Saudi Arabian territory, as part of the Multinational Plan of Activated Air Defense for the protection of critical energy infrastructure against terrorist threats.”
