The Russian Embassy in Greece expressed its support to its “Greek friends during the difficult days of the fires,” in social media on Wednesday, ANA reports.
It also mentioned the efforts of Russian pilots flying the Beriev-200ES aircraft over the fire at Varybobi on Tuesday and over Evia island fires on Wednesday, “who showed courage, self-sacrifice, and professionalism, like their Greek colleagues.”
The embassy also referred to the Russian technicians, “who perform all the necessary maintenance overnight, so that the aircraft is fully prepared for new battles, although we all wish that these will not be needed.”
