Cyprus jobless in March 2022 fall by 58% driven by hirings in Tourism and Trade

The number of registered unemployed persons in Cyprus dropped by an annual 58% in March 2022, driven mainly by reductions in the tourist sector and retail and wholesale trade, the Statistical Service of Cyprus (Cystat) has said, according to CNA.
 
According to Cystat, the unemployed persons, registered at the District Labour Offices on the last day of March 2022, reached 13,818 persons, while based on the seasonally adjusted data that show the trend of unemployment, the number of registered unemployed for March 2022 dropped to 13,555 persons from 13,664 in February 2022.
