The number of tourist arrivals in April 2022 recorded a significant increase compared to the same month last year, CNA reports.
Tourism in Cyprus is showing strong recovery signs as the number of tourist arrivals in March reached 128,840, the authorities have revealed.
According to a press release issued by the official Cypriot news site, the number of arrivals recorded in March had surged by 1362 percent compared to the same time in 2021 and another 132 percent compared to March 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic started, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.
Such rates have contributed to tourism during the first quarter of the year, including January, February, and March, which peaked at 244,705 – 52.6 percent of all arrivals recorded in March. In addition, the first quarter of 2022 witnessed a better performance than in the previous year, which recorded 17,747 arrivals – 626 percent more than in 2021.
