The Japanese ambassador to Greece Nakayama Yasunori and the Japanese embassy celebrated the birthday of his Majesty the Emperor of Japan, on Thursday evening with a brilliant reception at the Athens Concert Hall, in the presence of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy and Openness, Kostas Fragogiannis, ANA reports.
“Japan and Greece enjoy cordial and excellent bilateral relations ever since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1899, but I humbly believe that no period in our bilateral history witnessed such rapid developments as the last 12 months of 2022 started with the Foreign Ministers’ meeting in April in Tokyo between Minister Hayashi and Minister Dendias. The two ministers, recognizing that both countries share fundamental values such as democracy, human rights, and rule of law including free and open maritime order, discussed not only the bilateral relation but also the variety of international issues including the situation in Ukraine, the Japanese ambassador noted.
