Athens | Opening to the Indian market by Municipality and International Airport – hosting 15 Indian agents and journalists
In the context of the implementation of the integrated strategy of promotion and promotion of Athens in new markets and the further tightening of relations with the growing tourist market of India, the Convention & Visitors Bureau of the Municipality of Athens (This is Athens-CVB), in collaboration with the International Airport Athens “Eleftherios Venizelos” and the support of Gulf Air, organized a familiarization trip with 15 representatives of the Indian tourism market and journalists representing reputable Indian media.
 
During their three-day visit in mid-December, the representatives of the tourist market had the opportunity to tour the festive Athens and visit the most important cultural monuments, as well as the modern landmarks of the city.

At the same time, they had the opportunity to learn about the rich tourist products and infrastructure of Athens, to enjoy the Greek gastronomy and hospitality, and also the multitude of leisure options that the city offers even during the winter months.

The visit took place in the context of the cooperation between the Convention & Visitors Bureau of the Municipality of Athens (This is Athens-CVB) and the Athens International Airport, with the aim of “opening up” the emerging tourist market of India, as well as the creation of a direct flight. The familiarization trip is just one of the many actions of This is Athens CVB and Athens International Airport for the Indian market, while actions are planned for the coming months that include the participation of the Greek capital in India’s largest tourism exhibitions such as OTM India.

The Managing Director of the Development and Tourism Promotion Company of the Municipality of Athens (EATA), Epaminondas Mousios, noted: “The initiative of This is Athens and Athens International Airport is part of the city’s general targeting towards new, emerging markets, such as India.
