Tourism Minister stresses importance of strong relationship of Greece with Serbia

The opening of the 45th International Tourism Fair took place on Wednesday night in Belgrade, with Greece holding the title of “Partner Country” this year. The fair was inaugurated by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni, ANA reports.
“The friendship of our two peoples has its roots in common history, cultural ties, the struggle for freedom, and our ambitions for a secure future,” Kefalogianni pointed out in her speech. She also stressed the importance of cooperation in tourism for the economic development and well-being of the people of the two countries.
“The International Tourism Fair in Belgrade is one of the most important tourism events in our region, a global gathering that allows countries and participants not only to promote their tourism product, but also to communicate, collaborate, create partnerships and to build strong relationships. And this is precisely the essence of tourism,” Kefalogianni noted.
On his part, Vucic pointed out that Greece is the favorite tourist destination of the Serbs, while he also noted the increase in the number of Greeks visiting Belgrade and other tourist destinations in Serbia.
Kefalogianni will meet on Thursday with her Serbian counterpart Husein Memi?, with whom she will examine the possibilities and perspectives of strengthening the cooperation between the two countries.
