Halkidiki is an attractive destination for the Irish travelers

Halkidiki won the hearts of the visitors at the International Tourism Exhibition Holiday World Show, which took place in Dublin, Ireland from 24 to 26 January 2025. The Halkidiki Tourist Organization began its effort to approach the Irish market in 2020 with a continuous presence at this tourism exhibition. This year, it actively participated in the exhibition led by the Deputy Governor of Halkidiki, Mrs. Ekaterini Zografou, showcasing the unique tourist experiences that the region offers, from the magnificent beaches and gastronomy to alternative forms of tourism.

Irish visitors showed great interest in activities such as walking tourism, golf, wine tourism and cultural tourism, elements that make Halkidiki an ideal destination for all seasons of the year. The growing demand from the Irish market is further enhanced by Ryanair’s direct flight connection between Dublin and Thessaloniki’s “Macedonia” Airport, making Halkidiki more accessible than ever.

During the exhibition, important contacts were made with Irish Tour Operators, (Explore, Exodus, Cassidy Travel Sports & Events) with whom new collaborations are being initiated that are expected to increase the flow of visitors to Halkidiki. The business meetings highlighted the potential of the region as an emerging destination, for a market with a high balance where it also chooses the ends of the season, strengthening its position on the global tourism map. The national participation stand was visited by, among others, the Ambassador of Greece to the Irish capital, Mr. Georgios Stylianopoulos.

The Halkidiki Tourist Organization expresses its satisfaction with the successful presence at the exhibition with the full cooperation and effort of the Greek National Tourist Organization Office of the United Kingdom & Ireland and the strong synergy with the Region of Central Macedonia, the Thessaloniki Tourist Organization and the Pieria Tourist Development Organization.
