British travel agents “discover” Naxos – Record arrivals in 2024

Authentic Greece was “discovered” in Naxos by distinguished British travel agents who were selected to visit the largest island of the Cyclades as part of the “TTG Sustainable Travel Ambassadors” program. In an extensive tribute by the popular British professional travel media TTGmedia.com, the British agents stated that they were impressed by the cooking classes, the excellent local products such as citrus, olive oil and local cheeses, as well as the tours of the exotic coastline and the picturesque villages that maintain their traditions and authenticity.

Elsewhere in the article, the destination is discussed as being suitable for family holidays that are not limited to just sun and sea but also contribute to experiential education and creative interaction between family members. As the British agents emphasize, the destination “is something different” as it has a unique aura, organized hiking trails in nature, and quality tourist services.

Naxos, an oasis of authenticity

“Naxos remains an oasis of authenticity, inviting visitors to get a taste of the Cyclades as they have dreamed of. “2024 closed with a new record for coastal ferry arrivals for the period April – October and with individual increases in the months of May, June, August, and September, while the course of air arrivals was also impressive with an increase of approximately 29% compared to 2023, reaching a new historic high,” said the Deputy Mayor of Tourism of Naxos & Small Cyclades, Vangelis Katsaras. It is noted that the tribute arose in the context of a familiarization trip organized by the Greek National Tourist Board Office in Great Britain in consultation with the Municipality of Naxos & Small Cyclades and with the support of the South Aegean Region.
