Paros continues to draw strong interest from both Greek and international travelers even in the autumn season, thanks to a series of prestigious distinctions throughout the year from Travel + Leisure and Expedia.
After being ranked the world’s top destination for 2025 by readers of the internationally recognized Travel + Leisure, the popular platform Expedia also included Paros on its list of the best islands in the world for this year.
“Based on real traveler data, Expedia’s list of the most popular islands gives travelers the inspiration they need to plan a smarter island escape,” said Melanie Fish, Head of Public Relations at Expedia Group. Notably, the platform encourages travel during the off-peak season — a goal that aligns with the Municipality’s tourism strategy.
The islands featured on Expedia’s 2025 list reflect travelers’ values and include:
Aruba (Best for year-round sunshine)
Bali, Indonesia (Best for relaxation)
Dominican Republic (Best for adventure)
Fiji (Best for community)
Jamaica (Best for culture)
Koh Samui, Thailand (Best for affordable luxury)
Maldives (Best for romance)
Oahu, Hawaii (Best for surfing)
Paros, Greece (Best for nightlife)
Sardinia, Italy (Best for food lovers)
Paros has also been highlighted by Hellotickets, which published a list of Europe’s 10 best hidden beaches for summer. The island’s Golden Beach was ranked seventh, described as ideal for diving trips to the impressive Pantieronisi Cave and for water sports such as windsurfing and kitesurfing. With sunbeds, umbrellas, and plenty of beachfront tavernas, the beach was praised as a perfect mix of action and relaxation.
At the same time, Paros has become a hub for island hopping among American travelers, according to Ferryhopper booking data for 2025. Popular itineraries include:
Mykonos – Paros – Santorini
Naxos – Paros – Santorini
Milos – Mykonos – Santorini
Ios – Milos – Paros
Heraklion – Milos – Santorini
Mykonos – Naxos – Paros
The Paros experience is described as: “Days of relaxation in traditional villages, picturesque alleys, and tranquil beaches.”
The Cycladic island is also building strong momentum in luxury tourism. It ranked 6th among Europe’s fastest-rising luxury destinations for 2025, according to a study by tour operator CV Villas. This was the highest position achieved by a Greek destination. The ranking, based on reviews containing the word “luxury” as well as overall ratings, highlighted Paros for its authentic architecture, gastronomy, and quality accommodation.
According to Ferryscanner, demand for Paros is rising sharply in two key markets: it ranked first among British travelers and second among Americans from January 1 to May 31, 2025. While Americans tend to choose destinations offering peace and relaxation, British travelers are more attracted to less explored island experiences.
Paros is steadily strengthening its appeal to high-income travelers, achieving international recognition and increasing its popularity in markets such as the United States and the United Kingdom — not only in peak season, but also during lower-demand months, supporting a more sustainable distribution of tourism throughout the year.
