GNTO: Promotion of "unknown" Greek destinations in the French tourism market

Five Greek destinations and a hotel group were presented to the French tourism market, within the framework of the professional workshop “Tourism Open Days”, which took place on September 26, 2025 in a central Paris hotel.

The event was held under the auspices of the GNTO and was organized by the company “Louder than Horn”, in collaboration with the GNTO France Service and the Embassy of Greece in the French capital.

During the workshop, the Regions of Eastern Macedonia & Thrace and Central Greece, the Municipalities of Alexandroupolis and Chios, the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization (TTG) and the Acrotel hotel group had the opportunity to showcase their tourism product to more than 80 French tour operators, tour operators, journalists and opinion leaders.

The event was welcomed by the Economic and Commercial Affairs Advisor and Head of the Office, Marios Mathioudakis, and the Head of the GNTO France Service, Emmy Anagnostopoulou, who praised the initiative and invited the French tour operators to discover these specific Greek destinations, which are less known and prominent but have unique and authentic characteristics and a multitude of thematic forms of tourism for their visitors.

The Region of Eastern Macedonia & Thrace was presented by the Deputy Governor of Tourism, Panagiotis Archontis, the Region of Central Greece by the Head of the Department of Tourism, Marianna Liaskou, the Municipality of Alexandroupolis by the Deputy Mayor of Tourism, Petros Kyriakides, the Municipality of Chios by the Deputy Mayor of Tourism, Giorgos Christakis, the City of Thessaloniki by the Director of the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, Maria Poulouktsi, and the Acrotel hotel group by the e-commerce & contracting manager, Maria Bachari.

Speed ??B2B meetings were then held between the representatives of the Greek destinations and the French participants, with the aim of deepening the acquaintance of the two sides and developing further collaborations.

The event concluded with a networking dinner at the Greek embassy in Paris, hosted by the Greek ambassador, Antonis Alexandrides, with Greek dishes prepared by the ambassador of Greek gastronomy in France, Dina Nikolaou.

The French participants were also offered gift bags with local Greek products, as well as eight vouchers for trips to the specific destinations.
