Greece has won another top distinction in the Danish market, as it was named “Best Travel Destination in Europe” for 2025 at the Danish Travel Awards in Denmark.
The Danish Travel Awards are an important recognition among travel industry professionals and are organized by the companies: TravelMedia Nordic, Standby.dk, Check–in.dk, and Turisme24.dk.. Each year, awards are given in 24 categories based on research conducted by the analysis and consulting company EPINION. In addition, three special awards are awarded, where the winners are selected by a panel of judges.
The 28th 2025 awards ceremony was held in Copenhagen on 1 October 2025 and brought together 560 travel industry professionals from all over the country.
In the category of “Best Travel Destination in Europe” for 2025, Spain and Italy were co-candidates. In all these years of the event, this is the first time that Greece has been nominated and won first place.
The Greek award was received by Ms. Eftychia-Christina Aivalioti, Head of the Greek National Tourist Board (GNTB) Service Abroad, responsible for the Nordic and Baltic countries.
The award as the “Best Travel Destination in Europe” confirms the increased demand and undiminished interest of the Danish market, especially in recent years for Greece, ranking it first among destinations at a European level.
