The diverse tourist product of Kos, Kalymnos and neighboring Telendos, with an emphasis on local production, gastronomy and culture, was at the center of the filming that took place on the three islands from October 4 to 10 for the popular travel show of the Polish state television TVP “Dancing with the World” (Ta?cz?ca ze ?wiatem).
The Polish crew’s trip was organized by the Polish National Tourism Organization Service, in collaboration with the Municipality of Kalymnos, represented by the Deputy Mayor of Tourism, Kalliopi Koutouzi, and the Municipality of Kos, with the collaboration of the Director of Sustainable Tourism Development of Kos-Astypalaia-Nisyros, Nikos Sofos.
During its journey, the Polish crew captured the most beautiful settlements of the islands, unique natural landscapes, the most representative archaeological, historical and religious monuments, museums and traditional product production units, while the show’s host, Klaudia Carlos, interviewed residents, highlighting the rich tradition and culture of the islands, as well as the special forms of tourism they offer their visitors.
Presentation of the islands in five 30-minute episodes
The program “Dancing with the World” falls into the “lifestyle and travel” category and in each episode explores life in other countries, local cultures and customs, paying particular attention to the way in which people around the world express themselves through dance, often focusing on celebrations, festivals and daily rituals.
The three Greek islands will be presented in a total of five 30-minute episodes of the show, which will be broadcast next November and December, while they will then be shown in repeats in many program zones, both on television and on the online channels of Polish state television, ensuring significant audience appeal.
It is recalled that in 2023 the same show, again in collaboration with the Polish National Tourism Organization, had made corresponding specials for Lesvos, Chios and Samos.
